On June 29th, a reception in honor of Mr. Sun Yuxi, New Chinese Ambassador to Poland, was held in the Embassy of China in Warsaw, which was brilliantly illuminated in the fresh and light breeze of the early summer. Over 150 guests attended the reception, including overseas Chinese, representatives from Chinese enterprises and institutes, Chinese students and teachers.

In his remarks, Ambassador Sun noted that Poland was one of the countries which recognized the People's Republic of China at the earliest time. China-Poland relationship maintains a general direction of friendly cooperation since the establishment of diplomatic relations between both sides in 1949. The bilateral relations now have reached a crucial moment for further development. Ambassador Sun emphasized that he is so keenly aware of the responsibilities as Chinese Ambassador to Poland that he will do his utmost to make friends with people from all circles, further all-round communications and cooperation and create a new outlook in the comprehensive development of China-Poland relations.

Ambassador Sun stressed that besides the improvement of bilateral relations in a friendly, stable and healthy way, Chinese Embassy would like to support the development of Chinese enterprises in Poland and safeguard legitimate rights of overseas Chinese by implementing practical consular protection.

At last, Ambassador Sun encouraged the audiences to seize the good opportunity of the sound relations between China and Poland. He suggested that overseas Chinese should make contributions to the enhancement of friendship between the two peoples and the prosperity of our motherland by developing careers and promoting Chinese culture in Poland.

The guests all expressed their warm welcome and sincere congratulations to Ambassador Sun and wished him a pleasant time in the new post. Many of them showed the willingness to closely coordinate with the Embassy so as to make efforts to build a good image of China and boost China-Poland relations.
